My artwork is an intersection of stage craft, architecture and miniature design.
Three dimensional design has always been an integral part of my designs.  I enjoy working with all kinds of materials, but my favorite substrate to work with is foamcore...a versatile material for a variety of applications. Acrylic, latex and spray paints are mainly what I prefer to use and I enjoy incorporating specialized lighting into the pieces I create.  My one of kind shadow box designs are miniature installations and they're best viewed in low lighting.
In 2014, I received a design patent for the "Trailer-Trash" Trashcan.  This functional piece of artwork will be available for purchase soon! These miniature trailers are a creative alternative to the wastebasket!
Over the past 12 years I have created a body of work that continues to grow.  Artwork that is original, humorous, thought provoking and engaging for everyone. I enjoy working in smaller scales as it draws the viewer into the scene. My work is an example of everyday life. Things that we hear or see everyday, but displayed in a different context that creates a unique perspective. A tongue and cheek look at experiences we all share, re imagined in miniature scenes or sculptures. The title of each piece initiates the story, and the viewer then finishes it.
My award winning artwork has been featured in the following galleries:

"Cell Phone" recently received 2nd place out of a 150 pieces of artwork in the "Anything Goes" juried exhibit at the Atrium Gallery in Ventura, CA. Here's a quote from the judges comments:
Tim Koch's "Cell Phone" sculpture is by far the most socially relevant and impactful piece in the show, as it so creatively and humorously portrays our sense of feeling and being trapped by our cell phones.

Currently, I work out of a small art studio creating unique, one of kind 3D artwork in Boulder Colorado.
